Zizou Bergs vs Jesper De Jong prediction

31st seed Zizou Bergs overcame the challenge of Carlos Taberner in the first round, delivering a clinical display against the serve by winning six of his seven break-point opportunities.

Bergs' four-set win has seen him reach the second round at Flushing Meadows for the third year in succession, and he will now hope to match his run to the third round last year.

It was much tougher going for Jesper De Jong, who required five sets to defeat Francesco Passaro on Tuesday - the second time he has won a Grand Slam match that has gone the distance with the Italian, the previous occurring at last year's French Open.

De Jong has enjoyed a decent year at the majors, noticeably reaching the fourth round at Roland-Garros, but Bergs is playing at a higher level right now and the seed is tipped to advance.
