In the first-leg of this UEFA Europa League playoff round tie at the Bijeli Brijeg Stadium in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Utrecht managed to edge past Zrinjski Mostar by two goals to nil. David Min gave Utrecht a 39th minute lead before Victor Jensen doubled their lead mid-way through the second-half. Matters then got worse for Zrinjski with left-back Petar Mimic sent off and now missing through suspension for this second-leg.
These two sides have experienced very different European campaigns, with Utrecht easing their way to the UEFA Europa League and Zrinjski having stumbled throughout, entering into the UEFA Champions League against Sammarinese outfit Virtus.
Zrinjski will head to the Netherlands likely aiming for damage limitation, and Utrecht will be expected to complete a comfortable two-legged victory in the Netherlands this week.
