USA team news: Unchanged again
It would be no surprise to see an unchanged starting line-up from USA after their semi-final victory. That means an attacking three of Berhalter, Tillman and Luna behind Agyemang up top with Freese preferred again over Turner in goal.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Freese; Freeman, Richards, Rea, Arfsten; Adams, De La Torre; Berhalter, Tillman, Luna; Agyemang

Mexico team news: Will Gimenez start
One of the big questions ahead of this final from a Mexican standpoint is whether striker Santiago Gimenez will earn start. The likelihood is that Javier Aguirre opts for a front three, which means Jimenez central with Alvarado on the right and Vega the left. That would mean Gimenez on the bench again.
Predicted XI (4-3-3): Malagon; Araujo, Montes, Vasquez, Chavez; Mora, Alvarez, Ruiz; Alvarado, Jimenez, Vega

USA vs Mexico prediction
It’s not been plain sailing for USA under the command of Pochettino, but this Gold Cup campaign has been a successful one for one of the 2026 FIFA World Cup host nations. Diego Luna was the American semi-final hero, the Real Salt Lake attacking midfielder scoring an early brace in what was an eventual 2-1 win for Pochettino’s side.
Mexico have not conceded a goal across the knockout stage so far, defeating Saudi Arabia by two goals to nil, before a single goal proved enough for them to beat Honduras and set up this final. The last two these two teams played was a friendly last fall, which was won 2-0 by Mexico and that result ended a seven-match winless run for Mexico against USA.
Understandably with this being a final, a tight contest is expected. Neither side will want to risk anything too aggressive offensive that could see them caught out on the counter-attack. With that in mind, the smart move to make in this final would be backing under 2.5 goals scored across the 90 minutes.
USA vs Mexico tip: Under 2.5 goals
