Roberto Soldic: "Robocop" arrives on the hunt for a trademark ferocious finish in his debut
Widely touted as one of the best fighters outside of the UFC, Croatian KO artist, Roberto Soldic (21-4, 1 NC), finally touches down in the Octagon after his release from ONE Championship. “Robocop’s” base is judo and boxing, but he’s primarily known for his heavy hands; he’s a brutal, one-shot KO threat with eighteen knockouts in twenty one wins. He’s best known for becoming the first and only man to hand Dricus du Plessis a KO loss under the KSW banner, relieving “DDP” of the middleweight title in the process. Having primarily fought his career at 185 pounds, Soldic drops down to welterweight for his UFC debut.
Khaos Williams: Can "The Oxfighter" hand another hyped signing a fraud check?
7-4 in the promotion since debuting in 2020, Khaos Williams (16-5) is renowned as one of the heaviest hitters at 170 pounds. “The Oxfighter” has produced some of the scarier KOs in recent memory during his UFC tenure, leaving the likes of Abdul Razak Alhassan and Carlston Harris completely stiff with his murderous power. However, the 32 year old American has proven to be a little reliant on a gnarly KO throughout his time in the UFC, with various opponents finding success after they have managed to outlast his early onslaught.
Who do you think will win at UFC 332?
Open poll and resultsRoberto Soldic vs Khaos Williams prediction
This is a dangerous debut for “Robocop.”
Williams is one-dimensional but he hits like a truck. Soldic has fought just once since 2023, is on the wrong end of a height and reach discrepancy, and is only one fight removed from a KO loss to middle-of-the-road competition in the form of Zebaztian Kadestam. Williams has also never been KO’d across twenty one fights as a pro, and Soldic is dropping down a weight class to take this one.
However, we’re still riding with the Croatian here. Soldic has long been heralded as one of the better names plying his trade outside of the UFC with good reason; the man is really good. Two of his four losses have come against elite level competition in the form of Yaroslav Amosov and Dricus du Plessis; the latter of which he avenged with a brutal KO, becoming the only man to stop “Stillknocks” with strikes.
There’s a lot of value in Williams as an underdog here based on the aforementioned reasoning. I would not be shocked to see Soldic become the latest high profile signing from another organization put on a highlight reel in his first UFC appearance. However, I think that Soldic is on another level when it comes to the striking, one who is capable of winning a damage based decision even if he isn’t able to score the KO. With that being said, I think he actually becomes the first man to stop Williams on the feet here.
Prediction: Roberto Soldic to win by TKO
