King Green: The veteran showman enjoying a late renaissance
King Green (36-17-1) is enjoying one of the best runs of his career at the back end of it. Since being knocked out by Mauricio Ruffy’s spinning wheel kick in March 2025, he has won four straight for the first time in his UFC tenure. His win streak includes a decision over Lance Gibson Jr. before finishing Daniel Zellhuber, Jeremy Stephens and Terrance McKinney in succession. Having just turned 40, Green still moves exceptionally well, fighting hands-low behind a sharp jab, switching stances seamlessly and countering off elite head movement. He holds the record for most significant strikes landed in UFC lightweight history, and is unofficially the craftiest 40-year-old in the game. The low hands can leave him open to extended combinations.
Esteban Ribovics: “El Gringo” brings the volume and violence
Esteban Ribovics (16-3) bounced back in his last bout, beating Edson Barboza at UFC 330 in August after being submitted by Mateusz Gamrot in April. The Argentine burst onto the scene with a 37-second head kick KO of Terrance McKinney, before edging Daniel Zellhuber in a split decision war, dropping a split decision to Nasrat Haqparast, and outworking Elves Brener. Ribovics is a tight, composed volume boxer with decent power and a sturdy chin, landing an outrageous 7.4 significant strikes per minute. He mixes the body and head well once he finds his groove, and he’s always happy to eat one to land one.
Who do you think will win at UFC 332?
Open poll and resultsKing Green vs Esteban Ribovics prediction
This matchup comes with three shared opponents, and all of them point towards Green’s way. Both men finished McKinney, but Green stopped Zellhuber where Ribovics needed a split decision. Green also beat Haqparast, where Ribovics lost a split. Styles make fights though, and this is a fascinating clash between a slick counter-striker and a brawler who will happily dog it out in the pocket.
Ribovic’s path to victory is cracking Green’s chin. Those low hands leave Green exposed to consecutive shots, and Ribovics has the volume and composure to string combinations together without being overwhelmed by Green’s speed and presence. His straight shots and body work will be his best weapons, as Green’s body is often available even when his head isn’t. The concern is that Ribovics can be slow to start working the body, and if he spends the early going head-hunting, Green will build confidence and momentum fast.
Green’s path is to be the much slicker boxer and make Ribovics look amateur. Baiting opponents with dropped hands and trash talk, then punishing overextensions with counters thrown from below their eyeline, is exactly how he picks strikers apart on his day. Expect this to be closer than a typical Green masterclass, Ribovics will have his moments, but back Green to outpoint him in a Fight of the Night worthy war.
Prediction: King Green to win by decision
