Tottenham Hotspur have started the season reasonably well as they now welcome a winless Wolverhampton Wanderers side down to north London this weekend.

Tottenham preview: Steady start for Spurs

Thomas Frank’s start at Tottenham Hotspur has begun with just one defeat inside 90 minutes in their eight matches across all competitions. They eased past League One side Doncaster Rovers by three goals to nil in the third round of the EFL Cup in midweek.

Spurs managed to avoid defeat with a stirring comeback at the AMEX Stadium against Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend. Tottenham had been 2-0 down in that game, before earning themselves a point down on the south coast.

Wolves preview: Winless Wolves

Despite being handed a new contract, Wolverhampton Wanderers have started their Premier League campaign with five defeats from five. They did ease themselves into the fourth round of the EFL Cup in midweek with a 2-0 win over Everton in Molineux.

Wolves’ most recent Premier League outing saw them take a 1-0 lead against newly-promoted Leeds United last weekend, before falling to 3-1 down before half-time and surely heaping the pressure on the manager and his players.

Tottenham team news: Still no Solanke or Kolo Muani

In his pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Thomas Frank has confirmed that attacking duo Randal Kolo Muani and Dominic Solanke remain unavailable for selection for the hosts.

Pape Matar Sarr has returned to training, though, and it could well be that the Senegal international starts once again.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Vicario; Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Spence; Bergvall, Palhinha, Sarr; Kudus, Richardson, Johnson

Unavailable: Dragusin (Injured), Bissouma (Fitness), Maddison (Injured), Kulusevski (Injured), Kolo Muani (Injured), Solanke (Injured)

Questionable: Takai (Injured), Davies (Fitness)

Wolves team news: No fresh concerns

Following their defeat of Everton in midweek, Vitor Pereira has confirmed that there are no fresh concerns for he and Wolves to deal with for this weekend.

That means Andre will be fit to play in the capital city, whilst Jorgen Strand Larsen is unable to play a full 90 minutes.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Sa; Doherty, Bueno, Krejci, H. Bueno; Munetsi, Bellegarde, Andre; Arias, Strand Larsen, Hwang

Unavailable: Chiwone (Injured)

Questionable:

Tottenham vs Wolves prediction

Wolves’ performance level hasn’t necessarily been horrendous but a poor season was predictable after the sales of Rayan Ait-Nouri and Matheus Cunha over the summer, combined with some indifferent incoming business. Tottenham will be expected to ease themselves to victory here, albeit Wolves could make it frustrating for a side not yet playing with overwhelming fluency in the final third.

Tottenham vs Wolves tip: Tottenham to win & under 3.5 goals
