Torino preview: Mid-table Torino
Torino come into this one on the back of a 2-0 loss to Atalanta in their most recent outing in Serie A at the Gewiss Stadium in Bergamo last weekend, with the goals being scored by Charles De Ketelaere and Mario Pasalic.
That loss to the Bergamasci means that Torino have now suffered three defeats in their last four matches after a slight improvement in their form as they sit firmly in the middle-of-the-table in Serie A.
Roma preview: Top four chasers
Roma have been much-improved since the appointment of Gian Piero Gasperini over the summer but their attacking fluency has remained limited as they hover just outside of the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots.
The Giallorossi have overcome a recent blip, though, with three victories in their last four matches. They most recently defeated Sassuolo by two goals to nil at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend, courtesy of goals scored by Manu Kone and Matias Soule.
Torino team news: Still no Masina
With Morocco having reached the final of AFCON, Torino will now be without defender Adam Masina for this weekend, too, while Marcus Pedersen, Ivan Ilic and Ardian Ismajli are all key doubts.
Predicted XI (3-5-2): Franco Israel; Ismajli, Guillermo Maripan, Saul Coco; Lazaro, Tameze, Gineitis, Vlasic, Aboukhlal; Ngonge, Duvan Zapata
Unavailable: Schuurs (Injured), Masina (International duty)
Questionable: Ismajli (Injured), Pedersen (Injured), Ilic (Injured)
Roma team news: Attacking issues
Roma have a few key attacking injury issues for this one as Artem Dovbyk is a confirmed absentee, while Evan Ferguson is a doubt. Neil El Aynaoui is away at the CAF Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco.
Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Svilar; Ghilardi, Mancini, Mario Hermoso; Celik, Kone, Pisilli, Tsimikas; Matias Soule, Dybala; Bailey
Unavailable: El Aynaoui (International duty), Bove (Illness), Dovbyk (Injured)
Questionable: Gollini (Injured), Pellegrini (Injured), Baldanzi (Injured), Ferguson (Injured)
Torino vs Roma prediction
Roma are still learning the sophisticated and intense patterns of play desired by Gasperini. The fact they now have key injury issues in the final third is not going to help them. Roma will be viewed as firm favourites for this one but it could end up being a low-scoring encounter, especially with Torino likely to batten down the hatches to try and end their recent blip.
Torino vs Roma tip: Roma to win & under 3.5 goals
