Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Daniel Merida prediction
Tomas Martin Etcheverry’s poor form continued at Wimbledon as he was defeated by Lorenzo Sonego in the first-round. That extended his losing run to five matches, and he is without a victory since the Hamburg Open back in May. Etcheverry shone during the Golden Swing in February, as he won the Rio Open and advanced to the last four in Buenos Aires, but the results have dried up significantly.
He will face Daniel Merida in the round-of-16 after receiving a bye. The Spaniard won his first-round match in Umag after a comfortable victory over Ziga Sesko. He conceded just one break point and won the final six games as he strolled to a 6-4 6-1 victory after one hour and two minutes. Merida reached the final of the Bucharest Open on his tour-level debut earlier this year.
Merida is a tough opponent on clay, and he could trouble an out-of-form Etcheverry in this match.
Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Daniel Merida tip: Over 20.5 games
