Tomas Machac vs Alex de Minaur prediction

Tomas Machac qualified for the Vienna Open and will play Alex de Minaur in the first-round. Machac defeated Corentin Moutet in the first stage of qualifying, with his next opponent Fabian Marozsan then withdrawing due to injury. Machac was close to his best win since returning from injury as he had numerous match points against Karen Khachanov at the Almaty Open. However, he failed to convert any of them as Khachanov fought back to win. 

De Minaur will be hoping for a strong end to the season after a productive Asian swing. He reached his first final since June at the China Open but had to retire at the start of the second set during his match against Novak Djokovic. He then followed that up with a quarter-final run in Shanghai, where he lost to incoming world number one Alexander Zverev.  

De Minaur leads the head-to-head 1-0 after a win in Monte-Carlo last year. The Australian has rediscovered his consistency, and I expect him to come through with minimal fuss.
