Former world number six Matteo Berrettini reached the Phoenix Challenger final last month before a competitive, if slightly concerning, three-set defeat to Andy Murray at the Miami Open. The Spaniard is well capable of top 40 tennis at his best, with the intensity to compete with most players, but a first meeting with Berrettini should go the Italian’s way if he can stay fit.
