World number five Andrey Rublev has all-but qualified for the ATP Finals after finishing runner-up to Hubert Hurkacz at the Shanghai Masters two weeks ago and he will likely finish the job here in Vienna. The 26-year-old has a fabulous record at ATP 500 level, winning one of six 500 titles here in 2020, and he finally broke his Masters duck back in April with victory in Monte-Carlo. 22-year-old Matteo Arnaldi should provide a proper challenge in this first encounter, though, after a straight-sets opener over Albert Ramos-Vinolas on Tuesday. The Italian set a career-high ATP world ranking of 42nd earlier this month after an incredible run to the round of 16 at the US Open but despite some strong results on hardcourts in recent months Rublev should be too complete in these conditions. Back Rublev to win outright inside an accumulator or in straight sets on its own.
