THE PREDICTION

World number 11 Hubert Hurkacz beat Dusan Lajovic in straight sets on Tuesday to get his Basel campaign underway strongly. The 26-year-old has endured a really odd season on tour but claiming his second Masters title in Shanghai earlier this month suddenly brings him into serious contention for ATP Finals qualification. World number 27 Jan-Lennard Struff beat Christopher Eubanks in straight sets on Monday to react well to his shock defeat to Hugo Gaston in Antwerp last Thursday and this could be a proper thriller between two hard hitters with the German leading their head-to-head 2-0. Struff beat Hurkacz in three sets en-route to the Stuttgart Open final back in June but their respective levels have switched since then, with the Pole looking capable of a first victory in this match up. Both of their previous matches saw sets go both ways, though, so a combination of Hurkacz to earn at least a set and for at least one tiebreak in the match could be the shrewd move.

BETTING TIP: Hubert Hurkacz to earn at least a set and over 0.5 tiebreaks.
