THE PREDICTION

This could be a big fortnight for world number seven Holger Rune as he looks to be improving back under the tutelage of former coach Patrick Mouratoglou. The 20-year-old enjoyed a great run to the quarter-finals at Indian Wells last week, coming back from the death to stun Taylor Fritz in the round of 16 before a competitive exit to eventual runner-up Daniil Medvedev. This is no gimme, though, against 24-year-old Fabian Marozsan, who will set a career-high ATP world ranking of around 51st after beating Aleksandar Kovacevic on Thursday. The Hungarian upset Nicolas Jarry en-route to the round of 16 at Indian Wells last time out, backing-up excellent campaigns at other Masters events in Rome and Shanghai last season, and he will back himself to cause further upsets as a tour rookie with no fear. Rune should be coming through this clash in straight sets at his best but taking the Dane to win outright is the sensible concession – with a one-off on Marozsan to earn a set possibly the shrewd move.

TIP: HOLGER RUNE TO WIN
