THE PREDICTION
World number 31 Cam Norrie looked in decent shape at Indian Wells two weeks ago, where he won his most prestigious of five ATP titles in 2021, but the Brit was edged out in searing heat by Gael Monfils in the third set. 28-year-old Norrie has threatened to improve his form this season with a few eyes-catching displays, most notably in reaching the round of 16 at the Australian Open before an agonising five-set exit to Alexander Zverev, but inconsistency since early last year has seen him fall well back from a career-high of eighth. 21-year-old Flavio Cobolli will break inside the top 60 for the first time if he can cause an upset here and he takes some real momentum into their first encounter after impressing in a comeback over Yoshihito Nishioka on Wednesday. The Italian has stunned the likes of Monfils, Nicolas Jarry and Felix Auger-Aliassime to look a considerable threat to Norrie here and that makes taking the Brit to earn at least a set the suitably cautious pick.
TIP: CAM NORRIE TO WIN A SET
