Polina Kudermetova vs Mirra Andreeva prediction

Polina Kudermetova continued her progress at the China Open after a three set win over Clara Tauson. Kudermetova was defeated by Tauson at the Australian Open right at the start of the year, but she exacted revenge with a 6-4 4-6 6-4 win. She also defeated Yexin Ma in the opening round. 

Kudermetova faces Roland Garros champion Mirra Andreeva next. Andreeva began her campaign with a comeback win over Yue Yuan. The Russian did not make the strongest of starts and went behind, but then responded emphatically as she did not drop a single game in sets two or three, completing a 3-6 6-0 6-0 victory after one hour and 52 minutes.

They have faced each other on one previous occasion, with Andreeva beating Kudermetova in the qualifying rounds of the French Open in 2023 aged just 16. The world number five is a commanding favourite to win this one.
