Taylor Fritz vs Zizou Bergs prediction

Taylor Fritz was unable to reach a second successive Wimbledon semi-final as he was comfortably beaten by Alexander Zverev in the last eight. The American, who reached two finals in Stuttgart and Halle during the grass court season, suffered a flare up of knee tendinitis at the start of the quarter-final, and that injury has plagued much of Fritz’s campaign up to now. His best result here was a semi-final appearance in 2023.

His first-round opponent is Zizou Bergs. The Belgian broke new ground towards the end of last month as he won his first tour-level title at the Eastbourne Open, coming from a set down to beat Ugo Humbert. He then beat Humbert just two days later in the first-round of Wimbledon. Bergs was on course for his best result at a Grand Slam as he went two sets to one up against Arthur Fery in round three and opened up a lead in the fourth set. However, Fery fought back to stun Bergs and win in five sets.

These two faced each other for the first time just last month, with Fritz winning in three sets at the first-round stage of the Halle Open. The American will be a clear favourite on home soil.

Taylor Fritz vs Zizou Bergs tip: Taylor Fritz to win 2-0
