Key stats

  • The only previous UEFA competition matches between Sturm Graz and Nottingham Forest were in the quarter-finals of the 1983/84 UEFA Cup. A 1-0 home win for Nottingham Forest in the first leg was followed by a 1-1 draw in Austria which was enough for the English side to progress to the semi-finals. Those are Nottingham Forest’s only previous UEFA matches against an Austrian team.
  • Sturm Graz are without a win in their previous six UEFA competition matches against English teams with five defeats and one draw.
  • Sturm Graz have won their last four UEFA competition home matches.
  • Nottingham Forest have won only one of their last eight UEFA competition matches away from home (D3 L4).
  • Nottingham Forest have lost only three of their last ten UEFA competition matches (W4 D3).
  • Nottingham Forest have kept six clean sheets in their last ten UEFA competition matches.

Sturm Graz vs Nottingham Forest prediction

Sturm Graz have started the league phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Europa League campaign with a victory and two defeats thus far. The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-1 loss to Rapid Vienna in the Austrian Bundesliga at the weekend to mean they are winless inside 90 minutes in their last four matches.

They now face a Nottingham Forest side that began the reign of Sean Dyche with a 2-0 victory over FC Porto at the City Ground in the UEFA Europa League. Since then, though, Forest have suffered a 2-0 defeat to AFC Bournemouth before a fun 2-2 draw against Manchester United at the weekend.

Nottingham Forest may well rotate as Sean Dyche adjusts to European football but they come up against a very average side and should still come out on top here.
