Udinese preview: Struggling Udinese

Udinese have managed just one win in their opening nine matches so far this season with pressure growing on former Legia Warsaw boss Kosta Runjaic, who is into a rare third season under the ownership of the Pozzo family.

After the Friulians had succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at home to AC Milan in the North East of Italy last week, they were then held to a low-quality goalless draw against fellow strugglers Parma at the Ennio Tardini in midweek.

Roma preview: Impressive Roma

Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma are continuing to improve this season after a strong debut campaign at Stadio Olimpico from the former Atalanta boss as they remain unbeaten in Serie A and chasing Internazionale and arch-rivals Lazio at the top-of-the-table.

The Giallorossi fought back to a 3-3 draw against Napoli last week before easing to a 4-2 victory over Cagliari in the capital city in midweek, courtesy of goals scored by Emanuele Lulli, Nicolo Pisilli, Rodrigo Mora and Donyell Malen.

Udinese team news: Bertola out

Nicolo Bertola is now unavailable for Udinese after forced off against Parma the other day with other absentees including key defender Oumar Solet and attacking duo Vakoun Bayo and Idrissa Gueye.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Okoye; Abankwah, Kabasele, Palma; Ebosse, Ekkelenkamp, Karlstrom, Kamara; Chakvetadze, Zaniolo; Davis

Unavailable: Solet (Injured), Alaba (Injured), Zanoli (Injured), Bertola (Injured), Gueye (Injured), Bayo (Injured)

Roma team news: Dybala still out

Paulo Dybala remains a key absentee for the Romans this weekend alongside club captain Lorenzo Pellegrini, France international midfielder Manu Kone and first-choice goalkeeper Mile Svilar.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Gollini; Mancini, Ndicka, Koulierakis; Lulli, Cristante, Pisilli, Nahuel Molina; Matias Soule, Malen; Castro

Unavailable: Svilar (Injured), Bah (Injured), Kone (Injured), Pellegrini (Injured), Dybala (Injured)

Udinese vs Roma prediction

Roma have been brilliant to watch this season with the foundation laid last year now allowing them to be more proactive and attacking going forward, becoming more adept with the naturally fluent and front foot Gasperini style. They head to an Udinese side that look really poor going forward and are bereft of confidence, and so siding with the visitors is the way to go for this one.
