Sorana Cirstea vs Coco Gauff prediction

Sorana Cirstea is one step away from just a second ever appearance in a WTA 1000 final after ousting Jelena Ostapenko in Rome. 

The 36-year-old Romanian continued her stunning 2026 by defeating the Latvian 6-1 7-6 and teeing up a last four showdown with Coco Gauff. 

Third seed, Gauff maintained her perfect record against Mirra Andreeva with another comeback that saw her post a 4-6 6-2 6-4 victory. 

This will be a fourth meeting between the pair with Coco leading the head-to-head 3-0, including a 4-6 7-5 6-1 success in Madrid recently. 

All three previous meetings have gone the distance and there’s very much a possibility of this one following the same theme. 

We actually think Sorana is well worth a punt here but it’s tough to write off Coco’s resilience and no-one would be surprised if she was involved in yet another three-setter.
