How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – FOX Sports

How to watch online: UK – Amazon Prime / US – Disney+

Key stats

  • This is the first international match between these teams since a 3-0 victory for Germany against Slovakia in the round of 16 at UEFA EURO 2016.
  • Slovakia have lost only two of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches (W4 D5).
  • Slovakia have lost only one of their last nine World Cup qualifying matches at home (W6 D2).
  • Germany have won 18 successive World Cup qualifying matches away from home, since a 3-3 draw against Finland in September 2008
  • Germany have won 25 of their last 26 World Cup qualifying matches. The only match they failed to win in this sequence is a 2-1 home defeat against North Macedonia in March 2021
  • Germany have only ever lost three World Cup qualifying matches – all at home. In 1985 they were defeated 1-0 by Portugal, in 2001 they lost 5-1 to England and in March 2021 they lost 2-1 against North Macedonia
  • Germany have not failed to score in their last 42 World Cup qualifying matches. The last time was a 0-0 draw at home against Finland on 6 October 2001.

Slovakia vs Germany prediction

Slovakia come into this one on the back of back-to-back losses in the June international break in friendlies against Greece and Israel, a few months after a promotion/relegation playoff defeat to Slovenia in the UEFA Nations League. Their squad is improving, though, and so the pressure is slightly growing on Francesco Calzona.

Germany have experienced a lot of change since UEFA EURO 2024 and that is continuing to happen as Die Mannschaft begin UEFA qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Germans recently finished fourth at the UEFA Nations League, despite home advantage for the finals against Portugal and France.

There are question marks over Julian Nagelsmann’s Germany, but they remain favourites, albeit this Slovakian side will fancy themselves of having at least a sniff.

Slovakia vs Germany tip: Germany to win & both teams to score
