Slavia Prague preview: Steady Slavia

Slavia Prague come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 defeat of Banik Ostrava at the Fortuna Arena in their most recent outing at the weekend. That leaves the hosts sitting unbeaten at the top-of-the-table domestically.

In the league phase of the UEFA Champions League, Slavia have collected two points from their three matches thus far. They have shared draws against Bodo/Glimt and Atalanta either side of a defeat to Internazionale at San Siro.

Arsenal preview: Impressive Arsenal

Arsenal have been very impressive at the start of this season after a heavy summer of spending gave Mikel Arteta a squad that could compete on all fronts and they sit at the top-of-the-table in the Premier League after an excellent run of form.

The Gunners eased past Burnley by two goals to nil at Turf Moor the other day and they have now enjoyed a nine-match winning streak in which they have conceded just one goal in those nine matches.

Slavia Prague team news: A few absentees

The hosts have a few injury absentees for this weekend such as defender Tomas Holes, as well as the likes of Petr Sevcik, Igoh Ogbu and midfielder Dominik Javorcek.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Markovic; Boril, Kristan, Zima, Mbodji; Moses, Zafeiris, Dorley; Kusej, Chory, Provod

Unavailable: Holes (Injured), Javorcek (Injured), Ogbu (Injured), Sevcik (Injured)

Arsenal team news: Gyokeres out

Viktor Gyokeres was substituted at half-time against Burnley the other day and has since been ruled out of this game by Arteta. The Swede joins a group of confirmed absentees which include the likes of Martin Odegaard and Noni Madueke. Martin Zubimendi is also missing through suspension.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Lewis-Skelly; Rice, Norgaard, Merino; Saka, Nwaneri, Eze

Unavailable: Zubimendi (Suspended), Odegaard (Injured), Havertz (Injured), Madueke (Injured), Martinelli (Injured), Jesus (Injured), Gyokeres (Injured)

Questionable:

Slavia Prague vs Arsenal prediction

Slavia Prague have a limited squad with very little by way of quality and that has been on show in this season’s tournament, and yet they have been able to be competitive with home advantage. They may indeed be able to keep it low-scoring against the Gunners, with the visitors the firm favourites but often content with keeping it controlled and that is to be expected in the Czech capital city.

Slavia Prague vs Arsenal Tip: Arsenal to win & under 3.5 goals
