Sebastian Ofner vs Thiago Agustin Tirante prediction
Sebastian Ofner did win his first-round match at Wimbledon after an impressive win over Hamad Medjedovic, but he was then defeated by Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets. The Austrian then dropped down to compete on the Challenger Tour in Braunschweig, losing in the second-round to Daniel Rincon despite winning the first set. He reached the quarter-finals in Bastad back in 2023, while he does have two Challenger titles to his name this season.
His first-round opponent is Thiago Agustin Tirante. The Argentine lost his round one match at SW19 against Fabian Marozsan. He did enjoy some strong results on clay earlier in the season, as he advanced to the round-of-16 at a Masters event for the first time at the Italian Open, along with a run to the semi-finals in Houston.
Tirante is the stronger player on clay, but Ofner does have the weapons to hurt his opponent. Nevertheless, Tirante will be favoured to come out on top.
