Rotherham United have started the season steadily, albeit with some concerns, as the Millers now take on a Wigan Athletic side looking to be much-improved this season.

Rotherham vs Wigan prediction

Rotherham United began their season with a hard-fought 2-1 defeat to Port Vale and they have defeated Salford City on penalties in the EFL Cup, but that latter victory has been sandwiched by away defeats; losing by a goal to nil against Stevenage before being blown away 3-0 by Cardiff City in a result that perhaps flattered Rotherham.

Ryan Lowe has his first full season at Wigan Athletic and the Latics have been able to comfortably dispatch of really poor teams, Northampton Town and Peterborough United, at the Brick Community Stadium, with defeats on the road against Leyton Orient and Luton Town. They have also edged past Notts County in the cup.

Wigan have shown they may have the quality to blast through the middling to poorer sides in the division, and siding with the Lancastrians in Yorkshire would appear a good value bet.

Rotherham vs Wigan tip: Double chance – Wigan to win or draw
