Real Sociedad preview: Impressive La Real

Ever since the appointment of former Hoffenheim boss Pellegrino Matarazzo, Real Sociedad have been extremely impressive as sit just four points behind Real Betis in fifth and the UEFA Champions League spots.

La Real returned from the March international break with an impressive 2-0 defeat of Levante in the Basque Country last week, courtesy of goals in either half from Jon Martin and Brais Mendez.

Alaves preview: Becoming fun

They now face a Deportivo Alaves side that are hovering just a couple of points and places outside of the bottom three and the relegation places with eight games to go in La Liga, and some improvement finally having been found.

Alaves managed to come from a goal down twice to eventually share a 2-2 draw with Osasuna, courtesy of a second-half stoppage-time equaliser being scored by Lucas Boye from the penalty spot.

Real Sociedad vs Alaves prediction

Alaves immediately improved after the appointment of former Watford boss Quique Sanchez Flores, but the visitors struggled for results until a recent three-match unbeaten run of form that has consisted of a combined total of 13 goals, with 39 coming in their last 11 matches. Real Sociedad are playing with a lot more energy and attacking intent so the hosts have to remain favourites with their home advantage but it should be quite a fun watch for the neutral, especially given the style of Alaves.
