Preston vs Wigan prediction

Having survived relegation from the Championship on the final day of last season, Preston North End have been much-improved this time around with Paul Heckingbottom’s Lancastrians having defeated Bristol City by two goals to nil last weekend to move themselves into third place in the second division.

They now face a Wigan Athletic side whereby the supporters have grown increasingly frustrated with the fairly ineffective and tedious style of football implemented by Lowe. Latics’ 1-0 loss to League One leaders Cardiff City last week means that they have managed just one win in their last six matches.

Preston will be able to heap the misery on Lowe, albeit their style of football is hardly cut-throat, so while a home win is to be expected, it may not be particularly interesting for the neutral.

Preston vs Wigan tip: Preston to win & under 3.5 goals
