Pakistan lost wickets but did enough to make it home in the first T20i, winning with seven balls to spare chasing down 183. Sri Lanka should’ve scored more than the 182/8 they did manage after being 146/2 after 13.5 overs. However, a middle order collapse put paid to a total of more than 200 runs and Pakistan took full advantage.
Ultimately, Sri Lanka just doesn’t have the depth in batting right now when it comes to 20-over cricket. Pakistan have more in the tank and their bowling is improving by the game, with five of their six bowlers utilised on Friday picking up at least one wicket. Back the home side to keep pushing and once again defeat an underwhelming visiting team.
