Pakistan are coming off the back of a silver medal at the Asian Games, with a familiar story at the end, India coming out with the top prize. Having returned home, Pakistan now turn their attentions to a T20i series with Sri Lanka ahead of an ODI tri-series including those two sides and England. Following that silver medal, Sahibzada Farhan has been named permanent captain of Pakistan’s T20i team and will be seeking a honeymoon period to begin his reign.
Sri Lanka are coming off the back of a white ball tour to forget in England. They were absolutely dominated during the T20i series in particular and whilst you’d expect them to put up more of a fight against an opponent weaker than England, Sri Lanka should still come into this game as underdogs. They’ve been poor recently with bat and ball in this format, so Pakistan at home should be favoured to come out on top.
