West Indies took full advantage of excellent batting conditions to chase down 250, the second highest victory target to be reached in T20i history, with Shai Hope’s unbeaten century as opener critical to the chase. Also vital was Sherfane Rutherford and his vicious 84 from 37 balls which including seven fours and seven sixes. Once again, this underlines the unpredictable nature of T20i cricket and how upsets are easiest to come by in this format.
India though, will respond strongly as they so often do when hit by a setback. Indore is another ground where boundaries should flow with regularity and way over 200 runs could well be the target again for whichever side is chasing. This time though, you wouldn’t expect India to fire as many blanks with the ball from a wicket-taking perspective. Runs shouldn’t be a problem and if the hosts improve on the bowling front, they should win the match and regain their series lead.
