India are favourites to win the gold medal when you consider the quality of their squad. Despite the ODI side being in action back at home, Shreyas Iyer leads a very strong T20 unit who should prove superior to any opponent when at their best. Sri Lanka will attempt to dispel this, but they won’t have their top T20 players available having just competed a white ball tour of England.
Instead, it’ll be a Sri Lankan squad with experience but lacking the nous and true 360 hitting power than comes with being a star at international level in the shortest form of the game. India however, can call upon gamechangers across their line-up and such class is expected to be reflected in the result here. Any outcome other than a India win would be a shock.
