The ODI series between India and West Indies were full of runs and the same is expected in the shorter T20 over format. The hosts come into the series as newly crowned Asian Games champions and with many of those who competed in Japan in the squad here, competition for places is incredibly fierce.
West Indies have shown real signs of life across this white ball tour with the bat. That was topped off by a morale-boosting win in the final ODI which saw the Windies chase down 352 with five wickets to spare. Shai Hope’s unbeaten 162 was the key innings and with a number of West Indies’ notable T20i players joining them for this series, it’ll be a strong visiting side on show.
However, India remains the clear favourites and rightfully so. Ishan Kishan had a very good tournament, scoring exactly 100 runs across two innings. He reached 20 runs in both of those innings and backing him to do the same here has to be favoured.
