India vs Pakistan prediction

In what turned out to be each team’s first match at this year’s Asian Games in what has been a rain-ravaged tournament, both India and Pakistan were triumphant in the semi-finals, setting up another meeting which will see the cricketing world all turn their attentions to Nisshin, Japan. With the gold medal at stake, this is the first final between the two nations since the 2025 Asia Cup, which India won by five wickets.

India have historically dominated Pakistan in head-to-head competition and didn’t look like they had missed a step in their semi-final beating of Sri Lanka. A 124-run win sent out a message to Pakistan, who had overcome Bangladesh by six wickets. Pakistan will have their hands full trying to restrict this Indian batting unit, which boasts substantial depth. A player of Ishan Kishan’s quality batting at number five is testament to that.

Superstar fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah made his mark in the semi-finals with two wickets and you would expect a player of his class to play a big part in the gold medal match against Pakistan’s batters. Whilst Pakistan have made good progress recently as a T20 side, India are a level above them right now and that should be reflected in the result here. Back Shreyas Iyer’s side to claim gold with another couple of wickets at least falling the way of Bumrah.

India vs Pakistan tip: India to win and Jasprit Bumrah to take 2+ wickets
