The Czech broke Yuan’s serve five times and struck nine aces as she won 3-6 6-4 6-1. The 20-year-old is closing in on the top 40 of the world rankings, and caused an upset at Wimbledon as she defeated Elina Svitolina in the first-round.
She will now play Lanlana Tararudee for a place in the quarter-finals. She was tested by 16-year-old wildcard Jana Kovackova in the first-round, winning 6-3 5-7 6-2.
