Nigeria have endured a woeful qualifying campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with only a playoff berth just about realistic as they now face Rwanda this weekend.

Kick-off date/time:

How to watch on TV: UK – Not televised / US – Not televised

How to watch online: UK – FIFA+ / US – FIFA+

Key Stats

  • Nigeria have lost only one of their last 11 World Cup qualifying matches (W2 D7).
  • Nigeria have lost only one of their last 44 World Cup qualifying matches in Nigeria (W35 D8).
  • Nigeria have drawn their last five World Cup qualifying matches in Nigeria (all 1-1).
  • Rwanda have lost only two of their last six World Cup qualifying matches (W2 D2).

Nigeria vs Rwanda Prediction

The off-field mess of Nigeria has created a terrible team on the pitch, despite probably having the best collection of stars in Africa. The Super Eagles have managed just one victory in their six matches thus far, sitting six points adrift of group leaders South Africa, who have been impressive throughout their campaign.

Even Rwanda begin this seven match day sitting above the Nigerians, with the visitors on eight points in comparison to Nigeria’s seven. The Rwandans come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Algeria in June, extending their average run of form, which included a 2-0 defeat to Nigeria in Rwanda in March.

The Nigerians have an abundance of talent, and they simply now have to start showing it to ensure they can finish second in Group C, but they really should get the victory.

Nigeria vs Rwanda Tip: Nigeria to win & under 3.5 goals
