Newport County were widely viewed as one of the likeliest teams to get relegated this season, but the Exiles have started steadily as they take on Bristol Rovers in Wales.

Newport vs Bristol Rovers prediction

Despite their performance level being reasonable, Newport County do now come into this one on the back of a four-match losing streak in League Two, having begun their campaign with four points from their opening two matches. They have been playing against some of the stronger teams in the fourth-tier in that time, though.

They now face a Bristol Rovers side that, following their relegation from League One last season, have started the campaign slowly, but the Gas have begun to pick up some steam. Darrell Clarke’s side head into this on the back of back-to-back victories, most recently easing past Grimsby Town by a goal to nil.

Newport have had some bad luck with the fixture list, and it looks as though it could continue at Rodney Parade here, with the Bristolians the favourites for this one.
