Montpellier Herault are rock-bottom in Ligue 1 and begin the match day sitting 11 points adrift of safety as well as nine behind the relegation playoff place, which is occupied by Le Havre.

Montpellier Preview: Doomed Montpellier

Montpellier Herault have endured a miserable campaign throughout the season and after a few years of circling the drain, it now does appear that the 2011/12 French champions will be playing in the second-tier next season.

Boyhood Montpellier supporter Jean-Louis Gasset replaced Armenian coach Michel Der Zakarian a few weeks ago but things have not improved and they most recently suffered a 1-0 defeat to Auxerre in their most recent outing last weekend.

Le Havre Preview: Danger for Le Havre

Former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard replaced Slovenian coach Luka Elsner last summer and Le Havre started the season reasonably well in terms of their performance level but they have slipped very much into the relegation battle in Ligue 1.

They did, though, return from the March international break due to a vital 3-2 defeat of Nantes at Stade Oceane last weekend thanks to a brace of penalties scored by Abdoulaye Toure as well as a late 88th minute winner scored by Sunderland loanee Timothee Pembele.

Montpellier Team News: A few injuries

Former Celtic defender Christopher Jullien remains a doubt for Montpellier alongside Enzo Tchato, whilst fellow defenders Becir Omeragic and Nikola Maksimovic remain definite and confirmed absentees for the hosts.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Lecomte; Sacko, Meite, Sagnan, Sylla; Ferri, Chotard; Coulibaly, Savanier, Maamma; Pays

Unavailable: Omeragic (Injured), Maksimovic (Injured)

Questionable: Jullien (Injured), Tchato (Injured), Issoufou (Injured), Gueguin (Injured)

Le Havre Team News: A few issues

Former Fulham and AC Milan defender Fode Ballo-Toure remains a doubt for Le Havre this weekend alongside Yann Kitala, whilst they will definitely be without both Daren Mosengo and Andy Logbo.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Desmas; Nego, Sangante, Lloris, Pembele; Toure, Mwanga; Casimir, Kechta, Soumare; Ayew

Unavailable: Mosengo (Injured), Logbo (Injured)

Questionable: Ballo-Toure (Injured), Kitala (Injured)

Montpellier vs Le Havre Prediction

Montpellier have been frustrating to watch throughout the campaign with just 21 goals scored in their 26 matches and their 1-0 defeat to Auxerre last weekend made it eight successive defeats in Ligue 1, likely to become nine with the official result of Saint-Etienne yet to be confirmed due to that game being suspended when it was 2-0 to ASSE. They face a Le Havre side that will seek to use the confidence gained from last weekend’s late win to ensure they can push themselves further away from Montpellier.

Montpellier vs Le Havre Tip: Double chance – Le Havre to win or draw
