Monaco preview: Woeful Monegasque
In October, Sebastian Pocognoli departed Belgian champions Royale Union Saint-Gilloise to replace Adi Hutter at Monaco but the former Brighton and Hove Albion left-back has endured a woeful time of it in the principality.
They managed to scrape into the top 24 of the league phase of the UEFA Champions League with a goalless draw against Juventus in midweek but they have now managed just one win in their last ten games in Ligue 1 as they sit in the bottom-half of the table.
Rennes preview: Rennes pushing for the top four
Stade Rennais, under the management of former Aston Villa and Newcastle United right-back Habib Beye, have been very impressive in this campaign as they sit tucked inside the top six and the European spots in Ligue 1.
However, Rennes do now come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat at home to Lorient at Roazhon Park due to goals in either half scored by Jean-Victor Makengo and Pablo Pagis.
Monaco team news: Loads of injuries
Monaco are dealing with lots of injuries for this one, such as centre-back duo Eric Dier and Mohammed Salisu, as well as both Paul Pogba and Takumi Minamino.
Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Kohn; Vanderson, Faes, Kehrer, Caio Henrique; Zakaria, Camara; Akliouche, Golovin, Biereth; Balogun

Monaco vs Rennes prediction
Rennes have been one of the better and most entertaining teams to watch in European football. The visitors’ 19 games in Ligue 1, as they push for Europe, have consisted of 57 goals. They now face a Monaco side that have sunk into the bottom-half of the table and appear to be a team that are now just waiting for the almost inevitable departure of Pocognoli. Siding with Rennes would appear the way to go for this one.
Monaco vs Rennes tip: Double chance – Rennes to win or draw
