Monaco preview: Foot down on the Monegasque

Under the management of former Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach boss Adi Hutter, Monaco have been magnificent in terms of entertainment in recent years, but often frustrating as they drift away from the top-of-the-table.

The Monegasque have ensured UEFA Champions League qualification once again for this season, though, and they have made some notable signings with Eric Dier and Paul Pogba arriving on free transfers alongside the loan acquisition of Ansu Fati.

Le Havre preview: Steadying themselves

Le Havre returned to Ligue 1 for the first time in over 15 years in the 2022/23 season and they have now ensured survival in back-to-back seasons, albeit last year was extremely close as they managed to avoid the drop on the final day of the campaign.

Former Middlesbrough midfielder Didier Digard remains in charge at Stade Oceane, with underlying data suggesting good things are to come. They have had a busy summer window, and they will be expected to ensure it is a bit comfortable this season.

Monaco team news: Magassa suspended

Monaco defender Soungoutou Magassa is missing through suspension for this opening day clash with Le Havre, amid rumours of a potential move to Nottingham Forest.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Hradecky; Vanderson, Kehrer, Dier, Ouattara; Zakaria, Pogba; Akliouche, Ben Seghir, Ansu Fati; Biereth

Unavailable: Magassa (Suspended)

Questionable:

Le Havre team news: A few issues

Hungary international wing-back Loic Nego is sidelined through suspension for Le Havre, whilst new signing Thomas Delaine is also an injury concern for the visitors.

Predicted XI (4-1-4-1): Diaw; Doucoure, Lloris, Sangante, El Hajjam; Kechta; Logbo, Ndiaye, Toure, Kyeremeh; Samatta

Unavailable: Nego (Suspended)

Questionable: Delaine (Injured), Namli (Injured)

Monaco vs Le Havre prediction

Monaco have put together an extremely impressive side, especially in attack, and the additions of Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati to compliment their abundance of quality in the final third should again make them brilliant to watch. Le Havre have added some key players for this summer, but they will likely remain in a relegation battle, albeit doing so in a front foot manner, and that is always a good thing for the neutral.

Monaco vs Le Havre tip: Monaco to win & over 2.5 goals
