Mexico vs Portugal prediction

Mexico pulled off the shock of the tournament last time out, drawing 2-2 with Argentina before beating them in the resulting penalty shootout. It was a result not many expected and the confidence these young Mexican players will have gained from that must have been immense. The worry though, is how much that performance took out of them both physically and mentally, with another big challenge ahead of them here.

Portugal got the job done in 90 minutes, winning 2-1 against Belgium and looked impressive going forward in the first half, before a defensive showing full of grit saw them through in the second half. You can’t but feel that Mexico peaked in the last round and that it’s worth backing Portugal to come out on top this time around.
