Marie Bouzkova vs Tereza Valentova prediction
Marie Bouzkova continued her push for a third Prague Open title as she beat Carol Young Suh Lee in straight sets to book a place in the quarter-finals. The defending champion was 5-3 down in the opening set but broke back as Lee attempted to serve it out. She reeled off four games in a row to turn the match around and take the lead. She was a break down again in the second, but quickly responded and went on to win 7-5 6-4.
She will now face compatriot Tereza Valentova for a place in the last four. Valentova came from a set down to beat Maya Joint. She struggled on serve in the early stages, getting broken three times as Joint raced into the lead after the first set. However, Valentova was not broken in sets two and three and won 12 of the next 15 games to win 1-6 6-0 6-3.
Bouzkova leads the head-to-head 2-0. They faced each other in the semi-finals of this event last year, with the world number 21 winning in straight sets on her way to the title. She also defeated Valentova just last month in Nottingham, also winning the event on that occasion.
Bouzkova’s experience and proven record in Prague makes her a deserved favourite, but Valentova has already shown that she can thrive in front of a home crowd and possesses the aggressive game to make this far from straight-forward.
