She is aiming for her third title at the event. Bouzkova’s form is encouraging, as she won a title in Nottingham last month and then progressed to the round-of-16 at Wimbledon. She also won an event in Bogota earlier this season.
Her next opponent is Carol Young Suh Lee after she defeated Veronika Podrez in three sets. The qualifier made it three straight wins as she dominated the deciding set to win 6-1 5-7 6-2 after two hours and 17 minutes.
Lee has impressed so far this week, but this will be her biggest challenge by quite some distance. Backed by a home crowd, Bouzkova should be able to limit her opponent’s opportunities, and she will be heavily favoured to come out on top on this occasion.
