Manchester United found some form before the international break as they welcome David Moyes’ Everton to Old Trafford, who earned a recent much-needed win.

Man United preview: Improved United

Having earned themselves three successive victories in the Premier League, Manchester United went into the break on the back of fighting back to earn themselves back-to-back 2-2 draws against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur.

A few weeks ago, the Red Devils earned themselves a late equaliser at the City Ground via Amad Diallo before Matthijs de Ligt then scored in second-half stoppage-time to earn a draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Everton preview: Sticky Toffees

David Moyes’ second stint in charge of Everton has seen the Toffees begin their new era at the Hill Dickinson Stadium with a reasonable start to the campaign that has consisted of four victories, four draws and three defeats.

The Merseysiders come into this one on the back of a comfortable 2-0 victory over Fulham a couple of weeks ago, courtesy of goals from Idrissa Gueye in first-half stoppage-time and then Michael Keane deep in the second-half.

Man United team news: Sesko and Maguire out

Following the break, Ruben Amorim has brought some bad news for Manchester United supporters as Benjamin Sesko is a confirmed absentee for 'a few weeks', while England defender Harry Maguire is also sidelined for the hosts.

Kobbie Mainoo, who is now a peripheral figure in the United midfield, is expected to train on Saturday but has to remain a doubt for this one as Lisandro Martinez builds his fitness back up.

Predicted XI (3-4-2-1): Lammens; Yoro, De Ligt, Shaw; Dalot, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Mount

Unavailable: Martinez (Fitness), Maguire (Injured), Sesko (Injured)

Questionable: Mainoo (Fitness)

Everton team news: Rohl out for a while

Former Manchester United target Jarrad Branthwaite remains sidelined for the Toffees due to a frustrating hamstring injury and he is unavailable alongside right-back Nathan Patterson.

David Moyes has also confirmed that summer signing Merlin Rohl, who joined on an initial loan deal from Freiburg, is now absent for a number of weeks after undergoing surgery on a Hernia.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Keane, Mykolenko; Garner, Gueye; Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish; Beto

Unavailable: Branthwaite (Injured), Patterson (Injured), Rohl (Injured)

Questionable:

Man United vs Everton prediction

Manchester United had been performing reasonably well at the start of this season. Results didn’t quite match up but those results have begun to turn around, as they begin the weekend sitting just a point outside of the top four after 11 matches. They face an Everton side that head to Old Trafford with an expectedly dour and defensive style that may well frustrate a still imprecise United side but the hosts have to remain firm favourites to come out on top.
