Mallorca preview: Struggling Majorcans

Real Mallorca begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting in the bottom three and the relegation places with just five victories in their 21 matches so far this season and they are in woeful form under the management of former Osasuna boss Jago Arrasate.

The Majorcans come into this one on the back of a 3-0 loss away at Atletico Madrid at the Metropolitano in the capital city last weekend. That means they have now suffered three defeats in their last four matches in La Liga.

Sevilla preview: Inconsistent Sevilla

Throughout this season, with Argentine coach Matias Almeyda at the helm, Sevilla have been frustratingly inconsistent with the Andalusians having put in some brilliant performances but residing firmly in the middle-of-the-table.

Up against an out of form and distracted-by-Europe Athletic Club side last week, Sevilla managed to win by two goals to one, from behind, at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, courtesy of goals from Gatito Fernandez and Akor Adams.

Mallorca team news: A few doubts

Mallorca are dealing with a few key doubts for this one as centre-back Marash Kumbulla is potentially unavailable alongside both Toni Lato and midfielder Manu Morlanes.

Predicted XI (4-4-1-1): Leo Roman; Pablo Maffeo, Antonio Raillo, Valjent, Johan Mohica; Antonio Sanchez, Omar Mascarell, Costa, Sergi Darder; Mateo Joseph; Muriqi

Unavailable:

Questionable: Kumbulla (Injured), Toni Lato (Injured), Manu Morlanes (Injured)

Sevilla team news: Additional Heading Here

Sevilla have a few issues for this one with Serbia international defensive midfielder Nemanja Gudelj missing through suspension, amid plenty of injuries in both defence and attack.

Predicted XI (3-5-2): Vlachodimos; Jose Angel Carmona, Cardoso, Kike Salas; Juanlu, Sow, Agoume, Mendy, Oso; Isaac Romero, Gatito

Unavailable: Marcao (Injured), Nianzou (Injured), Gudelj (Suspended), Cesar Azpilicueta (Injured), Vargas (Injured), Sanchez (Injured)

Questionable: Januzaj (Injured), Alfon (Injured)

Mallorca vs Sevilla prediction

Real Mallorca have far too much reliance on Kosovo international striker Vedat Muriqi. That has left the Majorcans disparate on the pitch and far too disorganised for a side that should have been pushing for Europe this season. Sevilla, though, aren’t necessarily a team that can be trusted to take advantage of any issues and so siding with Mallorca, given their home advantage, may well be the way to go for what will likely be a low-scoring encounter at Son Moix.

Mallorca vs Sevilla tip: Double chance – Mallorca to win or draw & under 3.5 goals
