Luca Van Assche vs Clement Tabur prediction

Luca Van Assche has enjoyed a fantastic season, with five titles in total, including a first on the ATP Tour in Estoril. The Frenchman moved into the top 40 of the world rankings for the first time in his career earlier this year. However, his recent form has been poor, with five defeats from his last six matches. Van Assche was on the end of a first-round defeat to home favourite Bu Yunchaokete in Shanghai last time out.

He faces Clement Tabur in his opening match at the Lyon Open. Tabur qualified for this event after a comfortable victory over Nicolai Budkov Kjaer. The 28-year-old won a Challenger event in Tallahassee earlier this season, while he also won a tour-level match in Gstaad during the summer.

Despite his run of results, Van Assche has been the far more consistent of the two players this season and is well ahead in the rankings.
