Yannick Hanfmann vs Martin Damm prediction

Yannick Hanfmann last competed at the Shanghai Masters, coming from a set down to beat Kamil Majchrzak in his opening match. The German was then beaten by Frances Tiafoe. Hanfmann’s best result of the season was a runner up appearance at the Chile Open, where he lost to Luciano Darderi. He also advanced to the semi-finals in Kitzbuhel. 

His first-round opponent is Martin Damm. The American enters the main draw as a lucky loser, following a loss in qualifying to Andrea Guerrieri. He did move into the top 100 of the world rankings for the first time in his career earlier this season, while he also reached his first tour-level semi-final at the Open Occitanie in Montpellier. 

Damm’s strong first serve is likely to provide him with a number of free points in these conditions, but Hanfmann is more established and will be the favourite to come out on top here.
