Federico Cina qualified for the European Open after wins over Joel Schwaerzler and Remy Bertola. The Italian came from a set down to win the match against Bertola, claiming a 2-6 7-6 (6) 7-6 (4) victory. He picked up his first tour-level win of the season at the Chengdu Open, along with a main draw Grand Slam victory at Roland Garros. The 19-year-old also won a Challenger title in Pune.

He takes on Jaume Munar. The Spaniard began the Asian swing with his best result of the campaign, as he went from qualifying to the semi-finals of the Japan Open. He took the first set against top seed and seven-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz in his last four match, losing in three. However, he was unable to build on that performance after a disappointing first-round loss to Jenson Brooksby at the Shanghai Masters.

I expect Munar to return to winning ways with a victory over Cina in the first-round.
