Stan Wawrinka vs Martin Landaluce prediction

Stan Wawrinka is competing in the penultimate tournament of his career at the Lyon Open. He will retire at the Swiss Indoors in Basel next week. The three-time Grand Slam champion has not featured since a Davis Cup singles loss to Gustavo Heide a month ago. Wawrinka was also beaten by Matteo Berrettini in the first-round of the US Open in August.

He takes on Martin Landaluce. The young Spaniard was close to a Challenger title just a few days ago in Jinan, losing in the final to Mattia Bellucci. That will have been a boost for Landaluce, as his form has dropped off in comparison to the early part of the year, which saw him advance to the quarter-finals in Miami and Rome. 

It’s a very quick turnaround for Landaluce, and Wawrinka’s first-strike game indoors should still be strong enough to keep him competitive for at least a set here.
