Nishesh Basavareddy vs Raphael Collignon prediction

Nishesh Basavareddy qualified for his third tour-level event of the season after wins over Edas Butvilas and Aziz Dougaz. The American has won two Challenger tournaments this season, but his progress was stalled by an injury during the middle of the year which kept him out for action for nearly three months.

His first-round opponent is Raphael Collignon. The Belgian performed strongly here last year, advancing to the semi-finals, and he will be hoping for another deep run in front of his home support. Collignon’s form completely dropped off after a defeat to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the Swiss Open back in July. That began a losing streak of six matches, with the latest being almost two months ago at the US Open. He was then ruled out of Davis Cup action due to a knee injury, but he makes his return here. 

Despite his poor form prior to the injury, Collignon has to be viewed as the favourite here.
