Liverpool preview: Ngumoha's moment

A new star emerged on Monday as Rio Ngumoha, who has since turned 17, became Liverpool's youngest ever goalscorer when he scored a superbly-worked last-gasp winner in the Reds' dramatic 3-2 victory over Newcastle.

Arne Slot's men can count themselves somewhat fortunate to have taken the three points though, as they were clearly second best against a Magpies side who played with ten men for the entirety of the second half.

Arsenal preview: Perfect start

Arsenal underlined their status as one of the top title contenders with a commanding 5-0 win over promoted side Leeds last weekend, with summer arrival Viktor Gyokeres scoring his first goals for the club.

The victory at the Emirates was not without cost though, as both Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard were forced off with injury.

Liverpool team news: Mac Allister in training

Alexis Mac Allister missed the Newcastle win but has returned to training, meaning Jeremie Frimpong is the only known absentee in the Reds camp.

Slot could give Conor Bradley his first start of the season at right-back after he gained some minutes last weekend, while it wouldn't be a huge surprise if the under-performing Ibrahima Konate was to be taken out of the starting line-up.

Predicted XI (4-2-3-1): Alisson; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Wirtz, Gakpo; Ekitike

Unavailable: Frimpong (Injured)

Questionable:

Arsenal team news: Saka out, Eze debut?

Saka will not require surgery but will miss a few weeks of action, while Odegaard has a chance of inclusion according to Mikel Arteta. Kai Havertz will not be seen for a few weeks but Ben White and Christian Norgaard could be involved.

Eberechi Eze looks poised to make his Gunners debut, which could see Noni Madueke switch to the right flank in Arteta's front three.

Predicted XI (4-3-3): Raya; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Merino, Zubimendi, Rice; Madueke, Gyokeres, Eze

Unavailable: Saka (Injured), Havertz (Injured), Jesus (Injured)

Questionable: White (Fitness), Norgaard (Injured), Odegaard (Injured)

Liverpool vs Arsenal prediction

There have been some huge positives for reigning Premier League champions Liverpool so far this season, with summer signing Hugo Eikitike hitting the ground running and teenage sensation Ngumoha making an instant impact.

However, in some ways that has papered over the cracks, as Slot's side have looked far from defensively solid in the early weeks of the season.

Conversely, Arsenal are yet to concede a goal and look every bit the main challenger to Liverpool's throne. Victory at Anfield would be a huge statement at this early juncture, and the early signs are that they capable of doing just that.

Liverpool vs Arsenal tip: Arsenal draw no bet
