Lilli Tagger vs Yuliia Starodubtseva prediction

The last time these two clashed was back in early January of this year, when Yuliia Starodubtseva defeated Lilli Tagger in straight sets at the ASB Classic in Auckland. That match took place on a hard-court surface, as is the case on this occasion but it’s Tagger who is in significantly better form. The exciting Austrian talent only recently won her first ever WTA tour title, triumphing at the Prague Open.

Winning that tournament parachuted Tagger into the top five, cementing what has been a meteoric rise for the 18-year-old over the past 12 months. Meanwhile, Starodubtseva has been failed to win a match in any of her last six tournaments. Having already been a first-round victim in Memphis, Montreal and Cincinnati, it’s worth backing Tagger to extend the Ukrainian’s misery.
