Lilli Tagger avenged her loss to Sara Bejlek in Athens last week as she beat the Czech in straight sets to advance to the semi-finals of the Prague Open. The 18-year-old broke on five separate occasions as she won 6-3 6-4, and she’s yet to drop a set across her three matches this week. This is now her best result on the WTA Tour in 2026.
Her next opponent is second seed Barbora Krejcikova. The two-time Grand Slam singles champion extended her winning run to eight matches as she beat Dominika Salkova in the quarter-finals. The former world number two, who won the title in Athens last week, was largely in control as she won 6-3 6-3.
Tagger has performed strongly so far this week, but seven of Krejcikova’s last eight wins have been in straight sets. She will have all the support from the home crowd, and a second Prague Open title is just two matches away.
